Blame The School System for Those Lies Our Teachers told Us.

BLAME THE SCHOOL SYSTEM FOR THOSE LIES OUR TEACHERS TOLD US Blame the school system for those lies our teachers told us in the classroom. Good grades are not what life needs, in reality,  good grades sometimes don't take you up there but they condition your mind to one man's idea.   Blame the school system for teaching us how to manage other people's thoughts, it never taught us how to think  but how to manage and hold on to the thoughts, principles, formula and theories of some men before us.  why don't you sit down one day and question all these principles and formula and theories you were taught in the school?  The school system told our teachers to tell us that  in order for us to be successful in life, we'll need  good grades that will get us a good and secured job in the nearest future not ideas that will create jobs for us.  Blame the school system for those lies our teachers told in the classroom and leave those lies to discover who you are.  T

THE MASCULINE QUEST FOR GENDER EQUALITY BY MUNIR ISHAQ

Whether it is sheer societal inclinations, or rather my singular perception of happenings, I must admit that the feminists agitation for gender equality should not be justified from all spheres, in the sense that, while it may be justified on the basis of the barbaric treatment women are been subjected to by some inhumane customary rules, however such injustice should not be advanced as covering all spheres of life, for the reverse is indeed the case. As such I propose it is high time the male gender also clamour for gender equality, largely due to the one sided treatment meted out to males at the expense of females as obtained in practice. Speaking from my own personal experience, I attended a program few days back, when it was time for contributions, I raised my hand as did some ladies present, the master of ceremony however refused to point me and proceeded to point all the ladies seated round me. I had to stand up, clearly and visibly showing myself to the MC before he granted me

BEAUTY AND THE MECHANIC (CHAPTER ONE) by SERAH IYARE

Efosa embraced his wife and beamed with joy. It was their tenth wedding Anniversary. It was also his forty-fifth birthday and her thirty-fifth birthday. His parents and siblings, inclusive her parents and siblings were in Lagos to celebrate with them. It was a private party, just them and their immediate families. God had given them a beautiful nine-year-old girl, Edua and his wife was seven months pregnant with their twin boys. When they found out a month ago, after her scan at the Ante-natal clinic, their joy had known no bounds. They had been praying to God to bless them with another child since the birth of their daughter. At a point, they lost hope. Just when they were about to give up completely, and while contemplating adopting a child, God surprised them with a miracle pregnancy and it turned out to be twin boys. Exactly what they had been praying for, a male child, but God graced them with two! Double portion! His transport business was also moving well and he had been able

SOCIAL MEDIA OVER-SABI

Sometimes, I marvel at the level at which we over do things in this side of the world. Nigerians, in particular, we over react on things that are of little or no significance at all. I don't know if this is due to what we are going through as an individual or as l a nation generally. S (male) does something.. We see it as normal. K (female) does the same thing... We see it as stupid. D (male) does something.... We see it as excellent F (female) does the same thing.... We see it as absurd. What's wrong with us? We tend to hide behind our keyboards (and keypads) firing missiles into the social media. Wars we can never take on physically. Some people are so extreme to the extent that they don't see the sarcasm and fun in social media-ing. They take everything too serious, why? We can't be having a work and stress-ful day in the virtual world and still come to the on the internet to stress the brain....its just not right. And the extremists, condemning

BREWED CHEMISTRY

From unwary jokes And banters With eyes fixated on another I saw you as just a funny friend Then chemistry set in Unconsciously so, Whirlwinds of passion swept by Here I am with you. I lived in denial She did too No, she is my friend! I whined! No, nothing would brew! She exclaimed! Then came the flame which illuminated our synch Lost my defense Her wall threw open My innate self wanted a friend A gist partner Someone to bring out my talkative self Fantasing playground jumps With our offsprings Whence they see Dad and Mum As troublesome lovers Our affection grew From chatters and laughs Half-speaking, half-singing Then love painted the scene For our fairy tale Here we are, Helplessly in love Like we've got wings to fly Up there to paradise... Babe, its not over With the sweet, There is the bitter With the laugh, There is the cry A new horizon set With storms coming Before the final lap of professing "I do" We ve go

My Christmas rant

Christmas The reflection of the life of the saviour What do we savour? A subconscious trend to celebrate Merry and have fun! Like an hereditary disposition With the instinctive drive to enjoy the season It becomes just another festival When its purpose becomes trivial With little advocacy for pious living And reprieve for the weak The world is filled with negative vibes A conflagration of irrational acts Wickedness in high places War and strife Every 52 weeks, Christ celebrations comes... After the buzz hostilities resume Why the hypocrisy? Our world is ruled by thieves and despots Criminals in big places Scammers of the word Scammers in the world They hold our freewill With starvation and famine For whence comes the talk an empty stomach cannot agitate Why do we jubilate the birth Of this man Whose ideologies negate what we do? I won't be part of this hypocrisy Where our hearts are filthy Our country's burning sun nothing but a shadow Gnawed by a
